As far as the staff, some were great, and some were not. The meals probably for her were just not adequate, but it was a very secure place for her. Please please do not take your loved ones here, if I could give this place negative stars, I would. The staff at Caring Heights was very accommodating, but as usual there wasn’t enough staff to take care of their people. The staff that we did have contact with was very helpful. I just felt that it was more of a hospital type atmosphere rather than a home type of atmosphere.

She is getting it at least six days a week. It’s a nice place, and the insurance is covering for her rehab. The good thing that they have is continuing care, if she would start in their personal care, she is guaranteed a spot through the home as their needs change.

Over all, a dull, uninteresting place to live out your life. My mother is in Vincentian Home for rehab. Except for them being a little bit understaffed, which I understand is everywhere, I’ve been happy. She has a couple of little issues, but it’s her mental capability that gives her the issues, it’s not the actual facility.
The therapy room seemed fairly open. There is space for her to walk with her walker. For the most part, the tour was fine. She is in a hospital bed, and she is doing nothing on her own.

Like all places, the food was institution food. Some of it was better than others, some of it was terrible, and some of it is because she didn't like it. My mom was in quarantine the first two weeks she was there, and then she was put in with a roommate. Because the rooms were smaller, there wasn't a whole lot of room for her wheelchair in the room with the two beds, the night stands and the closets. The room was pretty tight, so it made it hard for her to get around.
The nurses were pleasant, although I was wary about some of the patients that were roaming the halls. My grandmother had a few falls from her bed, so I'm not sure I can comment on the safety or the attentiveness of the staff. Carpet bowling specifically comes to mind. The place smelled like you would expect a nursing facility to smell - whether this can be correlated with cleanliness, I can't speak.Sycamore is what it is. I wouldn't want to spend my time here, but I guess it is a nursing facility above all and not necessarily a vibrant community.
The facility is very clean, people there are like family so it’s good. If it were a brand new facility, I would have given it a five. It’s an old facility but it’s clean. The rooms are way too small, but the care she’s getting and the people there make up for the lack of space. They have Bingo and a few other games to play, and other things they try, but they don’t have a lot of room for big activities.
On one occasion when I approached the nursing station for help, i was told that my mother was not his patient, and he walked away from me with no eye contact. Another time, I was told by the nurse that she just came back from vacation and was too busy to assist me until later. My family members actually feared for my mother’s safety and her health until we got her out of there. Love this place, My dad is getting the best care here. There are plenty of activities for the residents.
They never seemed to be impatient with me. I cook a lot of Italian food and when they would bring something Italian, it was not the recipe. It was not to my liking most of the time. They should concentrate on making breakfast a little more interesting. It was almost scrambled eggs every morning.
